This summer, I'm staying in DC without a meal plan, so I had to learn to cook some easy dishes quick. So far, Pinterest has been a lifesaver. I've really been surprising myself by not eating out very much. For today's post, I thought I'd share some things that I eat and cook throughout the day. I want to do more of these posts, as each day is different depending on what is going on. This took place on a day when I didn't have class or work, so I had more time to mess around. Take a look and leave a comment with your favorite recipes for everyone else (aka me) to try!
Quick disclaimer: these aren't necessarily healthy options. I'm trying to be more conscious of what I'm putting into my body, you're talking to a girl who's favorite restaurant is McDonald's. The fact that I cooked period says a lot, trust me.
Breakfast
Impressive, amirite?? So, the night before, I planned a grand breakfast for myself and for this blog post. However, once I woke up, a bowl of cereal was all my brain could handle. My favorite cereal is Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and I snack on it when I don't have it for breakfast.
Lunch? Brunch? I don't know.
Alright, here we go. That bowl of cereal had me full for maybe three minutes. Once lunch time came around, I made myself a proper meal of an omelette, hash browns and strawberries. The omelette had chicken, cheese, spinach, tomato, avocado and hot sauce. Usually, I don't make such a huge meal, but I had some produce about to go bad. The hash browns came from the freezer, but they were surprisingly tasty.
Dinner
This was probably my least favorite meal. I don't love rice, but I was trying to utilize what I had in my pantry. Also, zucchini. I saw it in the store and wondered why I never tried to make it. I had more chicken on accident and added that to the plate as well. It was pretty easy but kinda boring.
Well, everyone! That is what I had to eat during the day. Like I said, I want to keep these posts coming for different occasions. I'll see you all soon with another!
