Tips for a Quicker Morning-
Thursday, August 11, 2016
Hi everyone!
As I’ve said before, I love back to school season. I can’t wait to start classes again in my own organized space and get back into my academic groove. However, there are a couple of things that come with the beginning of a new school year that I am not ready for. One of those things is having early mornings.
Naturally, I wake up around 6:30-7:00 am each morning. In the summer or during breaks, I can get myself back to sleep, but during the school year, I usually have ten or so minutes before my alarm goes off. Then, it’s go time. Even though my body is awake, my mind is nowhere near that state, so I’m dragging all morning before I look at the clock and realize I’m almost late. I absolutely hate being late, so I’ve had to learn a few tricks to keep myself efficient when I’d rather be dreaming.
My Grownup Checklist
Friday, August 5, 2016
Hey everyone!
Aside from it being back-to-school season, this month of August is particularly exciting to me because it's my last month as a teenager. On September 5 at precisely 12:25 pm, I will officially be a twentysomething! I'm looking forward to the next stage of my life as an almost-adult.
Of course, as I get older, I start prioritizing different things in my life. I'm starting to think more seriously about things like careers and credit and not so much about celebrity couples and reality television (really, who am I kidding?). With all that being said, I thought today I'd share my "Grownup Checklist."

August Wishlist
Monday, August 1, 2016
Hey everyone!
It's finally August! That means at the end of this long month, I will be headed back to Georgetown to start my sophomore year. To say I'm ready to begin would be a massive understatement because the back-to-school season is probably my favorite time of the year. This month's wishlist includes some room decor, fall inspired fashion and beauty items, and BOOKS. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to get back into reading. Maybe a post solely about my book picks is in the future.
Anyway, good luck to all you headed back to school soon! Make lists, pack efficiently, and stick to your goals this semester, but remember progress is the main goal. See you all soon!

July Wishlist ft. ColourPop, Urban Outfitters, & Forever 21
Monday, July 4, 2016
I hope you're all enjoying the day with family, friends, and others you love!
Today, I decided to share my July wishlist with you all. It's something I hope to do monthly here on my blog, every month with a different theme. I wanted this month to be all about colorful and glowy fun. July is the last full month of summer before school rears it ugly head (just kidding, I actually can't wait to go back), so it's a last hurrah for most of us.
Take the road trip you've been planning, be a tourist in a nearby town you rarely visit, or throw a summer party with all your closest friends. This list has some great items that you could use for affordable prices. Next month will be all about school, so breathe in the summer air while you can.
See you soon!

DIY Wall Art with ColourPop Cosmetics!
Saturday, April 23, 2016
Hi guys!
For months now, I've been telling myself I needed to replace the wall art above my bed. I had a quote piece hanging, but after an incident with a mouse in the room, it was destroyed. But that's a story for another day.
Earlier this year I purchased a collection from ColourPop Comestics, and I knew once I saw the colors I wanted to create something with them. So, I made my own lip print wall art. It's pretty simple, but I'll show you guys how I did it.
Materials:
Frame (purchased from TJ Maxx), Lip colors (used: ColourPop Vixen Collection), wall adhesive (any kind), paper (a few pieces in case you make mistakes), and a pencil
First, I put the lip colors in the order I wanted them to be on the paper. I tried to arranged them in a nice variety based on the tones and colors.
Then, I drew an outline of the area that would show inside the matting. I just used a pencil and a very light hand.
After that, I started applied the colors to my lips and pressing them against the paper. Be careful to align the prints with one another well, and try not to be weirded out by kissing paper.
For a finishing touch, I decided to add the color names underneath the prints. I was planning on going over the words in pen, but I really enjoyed the soft effect the pencil gave.
Then, frame it up!
The last step is adding the adhesive squares and hanging it up. I made sure to use plenty of squares because my frame was a little heavy.
Here is the piece hanging. A full room tour is coming soon, so keep your eyes open!
See you soon!

T-Shirt Season
Tuesday, April 12, 2016
I'm a huge t-shirt lover (I'm wearing one now). They're usually pretty affordable, easy to throw on, and easy to dress up or down. Also, if your Lazy Girl Status is on my level, they're great to go straight to bed in after a long day or straight to class after a long night. Since it's getting warmer out (😬😬), I did a little online window shopping and found some tees I really liked.
I love Urban's muscle tee/tank options right now. With a pair of cutoffs and some Vans, you've got a great outfit for the heat. I'm always on the lookout for tops with Spanish words or phrases, so #2 is probably my favorite out of this group. #1 is a close second, though; I'm a Texas girl at heart.
Forever 21's tees are also super casual, so I love them. #1 would look great with jeans and tennis shoes or with a skirt and heels. Shout out to #2 with some more (semi) Spanish relevance, and shout out to #3 for being the future only purple thing I own.
I've been dying for some Adidas t-shirts, so of course, PacSun was included on my list. These tees are great for working out or wearing athletic clothes and pretending that you work out (my favorite part about athleisure). Also, since they're Adidas, I'm sure the cotton is super soft, and that's a great plus.
American Eagle's t-shirts are a bit cheesier than the others in the post, but they still work. I love the comfort of American Eagle clothing, and the colors of #2 and #3 would add some nice variety to my closet.
Click the numbers at the bottom of the graphics to be reconnected to the sites. Also, I did a How I Style video on t-shirts a little while back, and you can check it out here or check it out below.
A Day at the Renwick
Sunday, April 3, 2016
Before coming to DC, I thought I'd be at a new place every weekend. Obviously, that's not as easy as I'd thought. This weekend, however, I did get the chance to explore a place on my list, the Renwick Gallery. There were a lot of eye-catching exhibits (think rainbows, bugs, trees and tires) that have been plastered on Instagram since the museum's reopening last year, and I'm glad my friends and I got to see them ourselves.
Weekend in Fayetteville
Sunday, March 6, 2016
Hey everyone!
Spring break just started, and I kicked it off with a trip to Fayetteville with my high school friends. We explored cool places (like this rooftop), caught up on our lives, and reminisced on our days at boarding school. I hadn't seen any of them since graduation since we live across the state, so it was really great to see everyone again.
Outfit details:
T-shirt dress: TJ Maxx (Similar)
Shoes: Vans
Necklace: Forever 21
Hope to see you guys again soon!

Dream Destination: New Orleans
Friday, January 1, 2016
Hey guys!
One of the goals I've set for myself is to travel somewhere new each year. I've had the opportunity to visit amazing places in the past, such as Spain, Morocco, Mexico, and some great places within the U.S. I've been trying to decide where I want to spend my spring break this year, and I've been looking into a few different locations. The place I'm leaning towards the most is New Orleans, so I thought it would be best to start off my Dream Destination series with the Big Easy.
I picked out three places in New Orleans that I'd like to for sure visit during a trip, and I picked out a stylish, affordable outfit for each. You'll notice that I'm kind of a dress person; I just think they're super comfortable and easy to travel in. Keep in mind...this isn't a travel guide at all; it's just a few fun places and some outfit ideas.

I also want to visit the Audubon Zoo. I heard about it a couple of years ago on an episode of Say Yes to the Dress. I'm not usually a "zoo person", but it's too beautiful of a place not to see with my own eyes. This Urban Outfitters dress is so pretty and breathable, so I think it's perfect for a day at the zoo.

The last place on my list is the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. I love art museums, and walking around and looking at art makes me feel cool. For this outfit, I wanted something simple that looked a little more artsy, so the H&M scarf and the gladiator sandals are important components.
Okay, guys! Those were three outfits and locations for my dream trip to New Orleans. If you click through each Polypore set, you should be able to find links to each piece. I have a few more places on my list, so keep your eyes open for more Dream Destination posts!
See you soon!
