3 Ways to Look Expensive on a Budget

3 Ways to Upgrade Your Look for Less (or for Free!)

As a working college student, I understand the dilemma of wanting to always look put together but also realizing how expensive it can be. I’m not sure who can afford to have a brand new “look” for every event or don a new outfit every day in class. I have, however, mastered the art of making the most of what I have, and I have a few tips for you all on that topic. You don’t have to have a ton of money to style fashionable looks. Sometimes, the smallest and slightest actions can take your outfit to the next level. It only takes a little to upgrade your look.

Tip #1: Find statement pieces.
Lately, I’ve been spending more time looking for eye-catching, statement pieces. Personally, I love a cool pair of jeans, but statement pieces range beyond denim into jewelry (which we’ll get into), tops, shoes, and so forth. When you have one statement piece, the rest of your outfit can (and should) be more relaxed or neutral. Having a statement pair of jeans gives me space to wear a plain white t-shirt and my Vans without having to have a million expensive pieces. And don’t let the word “statement” scare you! It does not mean expensive. If you spend time combing the racks of your local Goodwill or Salvation Army, I’m sure you can find some nice vintage pieces that can carry your outfit on their own.

Back to School Outfit Inspiration for High School & College Students

Back to School Outfit Inspiration

Hey everyone!

Our back to school content is still going strong! On the blog today, I rounded up some ladies I've been loving on my Instagram feed, and I used their looks to inspire some back to school personalities. For the outfit details in the pictures, you'll have to check out their platforms (don't worry, I've shared them multiple times). Take a peek at each look, and let me know in the comment section which matches you best!

Campus Cutie ft. Lindsey
Our Campus Cutie likes to stick with neutrals and basics, so she never clashes with her school gear. Of course, that doesn't mean she's boring! She plays with tones and textures like with this two-toned denim backpack and marble-like travel mug.

Back to School 2017: DIY Face Masks for Clear Skin

Hi everyone!

So, we are starting our back to school series! I'm super excited because, besides Christmas, this is my favorite time of the year. It's the time where I can be my Virgo self and get organized, set goals, and prepare to kick it into high gear before I start hating school again. One area I'm focusing in on in skin care. This summer, I spent a little bit more energy into skin care, and I've definitely been seeing growth. However, there are still too many days where I skimp on my routine or drink too much coffee over water or even sleep in my makeup (don't crucify me). On my YouTube channel, I'm sharing all the ways I'm getting my skin together before school starts back up, and on the blog, I'm sharing some DIY face mask recipe for all my budget baddies (💯!).

I also want to note that the start of the school year is simply a good check-in point. You don't have to have perfect skin to have a happy life or a great school year. If your skin isn't clear by the start of the year, you haven't failed anything.
