DIY Wall Art with ColourPop Cosmetics!

Hi guys!

For months now, I've been telling myself I needed to replace the wall art above my bed. I had a quote piece hanging, but after an incident with a mouse in the room, it was destroyed. But that's a story for another day.

Earlier this year I purchased a collection from ColourPop Comestics, and I knew once I saw the colors I wanted to create something with them. So, I made my own lip print wall art. It's pretty simple, but I'll show you guys how I did it.

 Materials:
Frame (purchased from TJ Maxx), Lip colors (used: ColourPop Vixen Collection), wall adhesive (any kind), paper (a few pieces in case you make mistakes), and a pencil

First, I put the lip colors in the order I wanted them to be on the paper. I tried to arranged them in a nice variety based on the tones and colors.

Then, I drew an outline of the area that would show inside the matting. I just used a pencil and a very light hand.

After that, I started applied the colors to my lips and pressing them against the paper. Be careful to align the prints with one another well, and try not to be weirded out by kissing paper.

For a finishing touch, I decided to add the color names underneath the prints. I was planning on going over the words in pen, but I really enjoyed the soft effect the pencil gave.

Then, frame it up!

The last step is adding the adhesive squares and hanging it up. I made sure to use plenty of squares because my frame was a little heavy.

Here is the piece hanging. A full room tour is coming soon, so keep your eyes open!

See you soon!

T-Shirt Season

I'm a huge t-shirt lover (I'm wearing one now). They're usually pretty affordable, easy to throw on, and easy to dress up or down. Also, if your Lazy Girl Status is on my level, they're great to go straight to bed in after a long day or straight to class after a long night. Since it's getting warmer out (😬😬), I did a little online window shopping and found some tees I really liked.

I love Urban's muscle tee/tank options right now. With a pair of cutoffs and some Vans, you've got a great outfit for the heat. I'm always on the lookout for tops with Spanish words or phrases, so #2 is probably my favorite out of this group. #1 is a close second, though; I'm a Texas girl at heart.

Forever 21's tees are also super casual, so I love them. #1 would look great with jeans and tennis shoes or with a skirt and heels. Shout out to #2 with some more (semi) Spanish relevance, and shout out to #3 for being the future only purple thing I own.

I've been dying for some Adidas t-shirts, so of course, PacSun was included on my list. These tees are great for working out or wearing athletic clothes and pretending that you work out (my favorite part about athleisure). Also, since they're Adidas, I'm sure the cotton is super soft, and that's a great plus.

American Eagle's t-shirts are a bit cheesier than the others in the post, but they still work. I love the comfort of American Eagle clothing, and the colors of #2 and #3 would add some nice variety to my closet.

Click the numbers at the bottom of the graphics to be reconnected to the sites. Also, I did a How I Style video on t-shirts a little while back, and you can check it out here or check it out below.

A Day at the Renwick

Before coming to DC, I thought I'd be at a new place every weekend. Obviously, that's not as easy as I'd thought. This weekend, however, I did get the chance to explore a place on my list, the Renwick Gallery. There were a lot of eye-catching exhibits (think rainbows, bugs, trees and tires) that have been plastered on Instagram since the museum's reopening last year, and I'm glad my friends and I got to see them ourselves.
